The Story of Preserve

It started with toilet paper. Hear us out.

When the pandemic started in 2020, one of the first items to disappear from the grocery store shelves was toilet paper. It seemed such an odd item to go first, but it did. People were scrambling looking for it. Chef Murray Zehr did not pay much attention to this shortage, as he orders toilet paper from the suppliers.

What did catch his attention next though, was when he went to order yeast to make his breads. His supplier was out! It was strange, but he also felt a certain “delight” in the fact that during lockdown, during this pandemic, people were at home baking breads and pastries, whether due to boredom or intrigue. He fully supported this impromptu breadmaking. He enjoyed the phone calls and emails from the masses, picking his brain and requesting bread-making recipes. He is a Chef and a Culinary Instructor; this is what he does!

Again, he felt “delight” knowing that more and more people were outdoors learning to grow their own Agri-gems at home! Again, he enjoyed the phone calls and emails asking his opinion on everything from how to build raised beds, to how much water do I use, to how far apart do I plant these things Chef Murray? It was simply amazing for him!
